About us
Bern GAA is a club from Bern focusing on the Irish sports of hurling, camogie and Gaelic football. The club was founded in 2024 following the the dissolution of Midland GAC, which was based in Solothurn and included an increasing amount of players from and around Bern.
Our goal is to promote these sports not only for Irish expats, but also show the beauty of it to locals. Beginners and experienced players 16 years or older (there is no upper limit) are welcome to see what it is all about.
We regularly organize gamedays within Switzerland, but we also visit international tournaments where teams from all around continental Europe participate. Some of our players have also participated in the World Games in Ireland.
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is the organizing body for the Gaelic Games, you can find information on hurling, camogie and Gaelic football on their website. If you are living elsewhere in Switzerland, please check out Zurich GAA and Basel GAA as well.
